The Foundation offers a variety of planned giving tools.  We help donors select the best tools to achieve their objectives in furthering the work of their church or other ministry.

Charitable Lead Trusts: work in reverse of Charitable Remainder
Trusts.  The donor contributes assets to a newly created trust, names the charity to receive trust income, and names the beneficiary to receive assets at the end of the trust term.  Typically, the remainder beneficiaries are family members.  The trust term can be for the life of the donor or a term of years.  During the trust term, income is paid to the charity.

The donor receives an income tax deduction for a portion of the initial gift.  Earnings on trust assets are excluded from the donor’s taxable income.

The value of the donor’s gift of future income to charity reduces the taxable value of assets ultimately transferred to named beneficiaries.  Furthermore, appreciation on assets held in the trust avoids federal estate tax at the donor’s death.
