Sowers of Seeds

South Anderson UMC

For years in the tiny kitchen in the South Anderson United Methodist Church, a group of people have served God with many outreach projects.

Now, because of the Indiana United Methodist Loan Fund, they can work without stepping on each others toes in a renovated and expanded kitchen.

Every Wednesday evening they provide a free meal for the kids club, the youth group, bible study groups, and anyone that would like to join them. Wednesday is a busy night for this crew. They reach beyond the people that are able to attend church by preparing and delivering meals to shut–ins.

Fundraising meals have always been a part of these servants’ ministry. Now they would like to raise funds to pay for the kitchen renovation and expansion.

The new kitchen has been used for free Thanksgiving dinners for the Homeless Shelter and the Women’s Shelter in Anderson.

The loan has also made it possible to create a warm and welcome atmosphere with a newly remodeled parsonage.

As it is written:  “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.  2 Corinthians 9:9–11
